Trail Ride set for Sept. 22

The Carrollton Police Department and Carroll County Sheriff’s Office are hosting the annual Trail Ride on Sunday, September 22.

The event is a fundraiser for Shop With A Cop, a program in which law enforcement officers are paired with local children to shop for Christmas gifts and clothing for needy children. All funds from the ride remain in the Carroll County community.

“Shop With A Cop is one of the most rewarding events we attend throughout the year,” said Carrollton Police Chief Michael Willhoite.

“Seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of children from our community who are able to pick out toys and clothing they like really underscores the true meaning of the Christmas season,” added Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman.

The trail ride will be held in a new location this year. The event will be on property that is approximately one-fourth mile past the junction of KY 389 and KY 55. A large sign is displayed at the entrance to the property.

The fee for riders over age 12 is $12 and is $5 for those under age 12. Riders may register the day of the event. A meal will be provided at 6 p.m. for riders and others who attend. Prizes will be raffled at the end of the ride.
